We, the Old Thorntonians are the association for former students of Thornton College. We are still in touch with over 1,500 former pupils and we hold decade reunions each year.
Visiting the school
If you ever want to call in to school to see us you will be very welcome. Please do telephone in advance however, as due to strict child protection rules, all adults on site must have an enhanced DBS check or be with a member of school staff. This means that it isn't possible to simply pop in and look around any more. We do hold special events for former students however and, if you call in advance, we would be very happy to show you around.
If you have any questions please do get in touch. You can email all news to Jane Holliday (Haseldine 1985). We will also publish your news on this part of the Thornton website. To update our records with your new address or indeed new name, please email Jane.
Thank you to everyone who has returned the 'contact update form' sent out to all OTAs on our database.
The Association relies on donations from Old Thorntonians to pay for the postage of correspondence and organisation of events. A Life Subscription offers the most cost effective membership at just £100. Annual Subscriptions vary depending on your status (standard sub is £10).
We are happy to help in the organisation of year group reunions for any old girls wishing to get together with former classmates. We help you to trace your old friends through our database and will host the event at the school if you so wish. Each year we hold one major reunion for girls celebrating their decade anniversary, i.e. for girls who left Thornton 10,20,30,40,50, 60 (and sometimes 70!) years ago.
Details of the next event will be added to this page once announced.
