We offer our boarding girls a structured study routine during the week, which is supported by help and advice from staff. As a result, attending the school as a boarder can give our girls a strong academic advantage.
Homework And Study Time
All boarding girls up to Year 9 study together after school under the guidance and support of the Study Mistress and a team of academic tutors. Year 10 to 13 students study in their individual bedrooms supported by their Housemistress, Mrs McMullan-Cooper.
The Academic Advantages Of Boarding School
As boarders, the girls learn to manage their own time and develop good study habits, with staff always available to help with work.
Boarding girls have constant access to their peer group for discussing ideas and shared revision and they also have access to excellent ICT facilities, with guidance and support from staff.
Another benefit of boarding is the time saved each day when the girls would otherwise be traveling to and from school. This allows greater scope for study (and relaxation too) before and after school.
It is not surprising that many of our Senior Day girls opt to board in their final year at school to help them with their studies.
