PERIPATETIC MUSIC TEACHERS
to commence September 2017
Thornton College, Convent of Jesus and Mary is a Catholic independent day and boarding school of 400 students, girls aged 4 – 18 and co-educational nursery for children aged 2½ to 4. The school is set within 25 acres of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, close to Buckingham and just 15 minutes from the vibrant city of Milton Keynes. The school has grown from strength to strength over the past decade and the demand for places is high. Numerous major developments have recently taken place including the building of an award winning Science and Prep Classroom building, Expressive Arts Studio and Pre-Prep Department. A brand new Sixth Form was opened in September 2016.
Due to the expansion of musical opportunities across the school, we wish to appoint additional peripatetic staff in the following instruments:
Piano teacher - 1 day a week
Singing teacher (must be able to teach music theatre and contemporary repertoire) at least 1 day a week
Guitar Teacher ½ day per week (ability to offer bass guitar as well would be great)
Drum Teacher – ½ day per week
These are fantastic opportunities for dynamic and committed professionals to teach our keen and motivated students in the Prep, Senior and Sixth Form departments. The successful candidates will be passionate about teaching their instrument and further develop students’ love for music.
For further information and to arrange an informal discussion, please contact Mrs Jo Storey, Head of Thornton College by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
