Steph Carter is a fantastic guitarist who has been on five world tours with his band Gallows and currently works for Marshalls Amplification in Milton Keynes. He took time out to speak to students about his three different careers in the industry and stressed that a career in music is available to everyone. There are multiple roles in business and law for example, within a creative environment, in addition to production, which allow you to build transferrable skills.
For those wishing to pursue performance, Steph emphasised the importance of building a network and taking every opportunity available. Steph is keen to help young people develop sustainable, long lasting careers in a fast moving business, particularly in terms of technology and audience engagement.
Not only are Marshalls one of the leading global amplifier manufacturers, they also have their own recording studios and support new artists. Our students are looking forward to visiting Steph at Marshalls and experiencing their factory tour and music production facilities.
