Our Year 12 week of UCAS workshops began with a bang! James Gowers from Coventry University delivered a presentation with tips about how to shortlist universities and courses, and what to look out for when visiting on open days. James then shifted his focus onto personal statements and gave the Year 12s fantastic feedback on their drafts.
Our students are given 1:1 support to build their statements and most complete drafts by the end of the year, meaning there is one less thing to think about at the beginning of Year 13! James commented that our students’ statements were of the highest standard he had seen which was great to hear!
Alongside the personal statement session, students took part in mock interviews and our prospective medical students had a bespoke two hour workshop, including a virtual meeting which showcased alternative courses for those interested in a medical pathway.
On Tuesday students visited Coventry University, had guided campus tours and took part in subject lectures. This gave them a flavour of life on campus and how university courses are delivered.
