Year 9 students took part in a fabulous Women In Engineering Day, hosted by Niftylift. The company provided a wide ranging carousel of activities, including experimenting with tools from the shadow board, what to consider when designing MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) and various challenges set by the Purchasing Team.
We learnt that Niftylift sell to every country, except for Croatia, and clients are able to order their cherry pickers, boom lifts and lift platforms in pink, yellow, green or red. Warner Brothers choose black so that the cherry pickers used for film shoots can be edited out. All the students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, and along with Mr Shippen, took advantage of the beautiful sunshine to ride in the tallest cherry pickers before leaving the event.
